How GIT Protects Product Information and Client Control
Not just an NDA — the controls we actually use: need-to-know sharing, supplier isolation, controlled documentation, and manufacturing knowledge that belongs to the client.
The Situation
An overseas client's product is built from components made by multiple suppliers and then assembled centrally. The client worries: how much product information will subcontractors see? Will manufacturing knowledge accumulate inside the suppliers? If they change suppliers someday, will the records and knowledge still be in their own hands?
The Challenge
- Subcontractors may be unnecessarily exposed to the full product and client context.
- Small process changes, inspection methods, tooling, quality limits, or undocumented workarounds accumulate inside the supplier without the client fully knowing.
- Manufacturing knowledge stays with the supplier, making future changes or supplier transfers difficult.
What GIT Does
GIT treats IP protection as a core part of how we work — but we never promise "absolute protection." We describe the controls we actually apply:
- Need-to-know sharing: Where feasible, suppliers receive only the information they need to complete their part or process.
- Supplier isolation: Component suppliers are isolated from one another, so no single supplier automatically gains the full product picture.
- Controlled documentation: Client product information, drawings, revisions, and controlled records are handled under Inertia/GIT's document and quality control systems.
How Control and Evidence Are Maintained
The core principle: clients should not lose control of their product by outsourcing manufacturing. Product-specific manufacturing knowledge, quality documentation, process records, approved changes, and key manufacturing decisions are documented and visible to the client under agreed commercial and IP terms. Whenever a client changes suppliers, they take complete knowledge and records with them — not fragments.
