In the winter month of December 2025, Panyu, Guangzhou — three academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences visited Inertia. This rare academic visit was not only a recognition of Inertia's manufacturing capabilities, but also a deep intellectual exchange on the future directions of advanced manufacturing technology, materials science, and medical device innovation.

December in Guangzhou is as warm as spring. On this day, Inertia's Panyu manufacturing base welcomed a special delegation. Three academicians from China's top research institutions, accompanied by officials from the Provincial Science and Technology Department and relevant industry associations, visited Inertia for an on-site tour and academic exchange.

Part 2 Academic Dialogue on the Factory Floor — From Micron Precision to Materials Frontiers

The three academicians' areas of expertise align closely with Inertia's core business, making the exchanges during the tour especially deep and substantive. In the precision injection molding workshop, the academicians paused for a long time at the molding machines, engaging our engineers in deep discussions on high-precision microstructure molding, in-mold stress control, and the aging characteristics of engineering plastics.

In the field of microfluidics and microstructure manufacturing, one academician shared his assessment of future trends in micro/nano manufacturing technology — from in-mold bonding techniques for polymer microfluidic chips to high-efficiency molding strategies for high-aspect-ratio microstructures. These cutting-edge academic topics mapped almost one-to-one with the engineering challenges Inertia is currently tackling. Our engineers also humbly sought theoretical explanations and potential optimization directions from the academician for real-world production issues like runner balancing, microstructure replication rate, and long-term stability.

On biocompatible materials, another academician noted that with the rapid development of implantable and wearable medical devices, unprecedented demands are being placed on long-term biostability, anti-protein adsorption properties, and sterilizability of materials. He encouraged Inertia to continue deepening expertise in this direction and to build a complete closed-loop technical capability from material selection through to validation testing.
